“I came to the states when I was 31, and have been here eleven, almost twelve years. My family is all in Mexico still. I like it much better here, but it is still very hard.
I don’t look at it as being homeless. I have everything I need. Food comes when I need it. I never wave a sign. I don’t stress. It’s not worth it. This (holds up bible) is all that matters. I am a very religious man.
Homeless or not homeless, what matters is that you believe in Jesus. I am happy because I have Jesus. So you ask what home means to me, and this is all I can say. What I see in people is their connection to god, not whether they’re rich or poor. I don’t see myself as homeless because I have faith.”
